Sharing the transformational power of choral music to connect within and across our community

Members of our all-volunteer ensemble of approximately 100 singers come from throughout the greater DC metro area and include singers of widely ranging experience and backgrounds. We embrace the challenge of singing music of the highest calibre to the best of our abilities as we work towards a shared musical experience that nourishes our minds and spirits. Together, we strive to meet the high expectations set by our director and our fellow singers, and we take great joy in sharing our work with our audiences.

The Chorale is a welcoming and inclusive community for all who are interested in singing with us and willing to commit themselves to the standards of individual and collective excellence that define our work. Experience among our community of singers varies widely—from those who have sung regularly with choirs for years, to those who may be returning to organized singing after some time away, to those for whom singing in a chorus may be something completely new. In rehearsals and performances, we cultivate an atmosphere of “serious fun” that challenges our singers without setting overly burdensome expectations. In meeting high standards of musical excellence, we also ensure that individual singers have the support they need to succeed. Practice aids, rehearsal recordings, sectional rehearsals, and presentations from outside clinicians complement the work done in weekly rehearsals.
