Postcards from Italy
In June the Chorale will be going to Rome to perform Luigi Cherubini’s 1816 Requiem in conjunction with a Roman partner chorale, CaroCoro. Cherubini’s Requiem was the work that Beethoven asked to be performed at his funeral. But we first perform this lush and beautiful work for our local fans at Church of the Epiphany, whose wonderful acoustic enhanced the sound of our spectacular winter concert in collaboration with the Sam Bonds Chorale. The program will also feature Italian opera choruses from Puccini, Verdi, and Donizetti, as well as a short work by Antonio Vivaldi.
