Printemps Radieux

The ephemeral beauty of springtime is uniquely captured in the music of Lili Boulanger, whose brief lifetime yielded a remarkably mature and varied compositional oeuvre.  The Georgetown Chorale and Georgetown Chamber Orchestra explore three of Boulanger’s final works, D’un Matin de printemps, Vieille prière bouddhique, and the haunting Pie Jesu which the composer dictated to her sister Nadia Boulanger while on her deathbed.  The pert joie de vivre of Francis Poulenc’s Gloria and Gabriel Faure’s enduring Cantique de Jean Racine round out the program.
