Our 2017-2018 Concert Season

The Georgetown Chorale traditionally presents a fall concert in December and a spring benefit concert near the end of April.  The proceeds from the spring concert are used to support our designated beneficiary.  In 2017 we introduced a third concert in the early spring featuring our Music Director, Richard Giarusso, and our Assistant Director, Andrew Jonathan Welch.  Last year they were joined by violinist Lauren Rausch.

Winter Concert:  Gloria in Excelsis

Winter Concert:  Gloria in Excelsis

Saturday, December 9, 2017 3 PM -  First Congregational United Church of Christ, 945 G Street NW, DC

Our holiday program this year features Antonio Vivaldi’s Gloria, performed with soloists and orchestra. With its vibrant rhythms, dramatic range, and effortless, lilting melodies, it ranks among the most popular works in the composer's vast output. Whether you’re hearing the piece today for the first time or encountering an old friend, you are sure to be hooked from the very first moments. Other works on the program offer a sampling of seasonal music spanning cultures and centuries, including the delightful and rarely-heard "Notte del Santo Natale" by Gioachino Rossini.
