Our Spring Benefit Concert features Ernest Bloch's Sacred Service (Avodath Hakodesh) with Cantor Asa Fradkin, baritone. Sung in Hebrew and English, the Sacred Service stands among the most distinguished examples of Jewish choral music of the last century. The dramatic, post-Romantic score mirrors the wide range of emotions and ideas conveyed in the devotional text and blends together many of the diverse, early 20th-century influences that Bloch absorbed and reworked in his own music. EXCITING NEWS! A generous Georgetown Chorale patron will match up to $5,000 in contributions made to the Chorale in support of our 2018-19 beneficiary, Yachad. Every dollar contributed to Georgetown Chorale for Yachad this season (including donations as part of special ticket purchases combining a donation with the purchase of a ticket) will be matched 1:1 until the $5,000 limit is reached. No need to do anything EXCEPT contribute... by check, cash or online credit card transaction on the Chorale website. All donations small and large will help us raise up to an additional $5,000!
